  • I've been using Dean as my PT for almost 10 months now, in both 1-2-1 sessions and with my wife. In that time we have both managed to lose weight at a steady pace and increase our strength and volume in our workouts. I personally have managed to drop my weight by almost 2 stone in that time AND noticeably improve my mental health. All helped not just by the gym work but the accountability with my diet that Dean has provided and which I had asked for. The gym sessions are well structured and have helped me develop my technique so that I am lifting weight safely and for maximum effectiveness. If I have any aches or pains I've brought to the session from my day at work, Dean has always been able to advise on a stretch or exercise that has managed to ease the pain and help get through the session. Both myself and wife came into the gym with no past experience and we now have the confidence and knowledge to do add a gym session to our week where we work alone without Dean. Dean is a friendly, patient and knowledgeable PT and manages to always get the most out of us during our sessions. I would definitely recommend him if you are looking for a PT that can adapt sessions to your goals and also give you the confidence and accountability that I've personally needed. I have tried to lose weight in the past but I was missing two things, 1. Dean and 2. the self-drive to do it. You might not have much self-drive to begin with but the sessions have definitely kick started that for me. So if you're searching through Google maps reviews for a PT like I was 10 months ago, you can stop now.

  • Previously had session with Dean for a period of around 4-5 months. I was a complete novice starting and he really made the exercise and plan feel not daunting at all.   • I can't recommend Protagonist Fitness enough! Dean's knowledge, commitment, enthusiasm and professionalism has got me where I am today. Whilst my journey is nowhere near complete he has adapted his training style to not only meet my physical goals but he very quickly understood what would work for me mentally too.   • Dean really helped me see the gym differently, he doesnโ€™t just give you exercises and tell you to get on with them he really explains and breaks it down so you know exactly what you are working until you are comfortable. He also helped me focus on my form and made sure I was doing the exercise correctly while guiding me step by step which helped me see results. Dean also explained what I need to fuel my workouts and helped me understand why my protein intake is so important to see results and build muscle.
